Fried Whiting

Ingredients
3 pounds Whiting fillets
1 cup Cornmeal
2 tablespoons Flour
2 teaspoons Pepper
1/2 teaspoon Cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon Salt
1/2 teaspoon Garlic powder
Oil for frying
Mashed potatoes for serving
Or corn
Or green beans
Or peas
Or a salad

Step by Step Instructions
  1. Wash the whiting in vinegar then rinse it under cold water and pat dry. Sprinkle it with salt and pepper and set aside in the fridge.
  2. In a bowl, combine the corn meal, flour, pepper, cayenne pepper, salt and garlic powder.
  3. Heat the oil in a large skillet on the stove. Coat both sides of the whiting fillets with the flour mixture and fry them in the oil for about 5 minutes per side. Pairs well with mashed potatoes, corn, green beans, peas, or a salad.
